Karen Egan - Decolonising my Se*uality

Through working with self-consenting touch I have liberated myself from layers of s*xual shame, integrated challenging past experiences and become multi-orga*smic.  I have found that the Embodiment of Consent is a path back into ourselves, back into sexual agency, empowerment, self-worth and self-love.  

At the core of my work is a profound passion for empowering individuals to occupy all of themselves. I approach my practice with a conscious and holistic perspective, embracing the entirety of our human experience by tending to the intricate interplay of our physical, mental, emotional, energetic, sexual-erotic, and spiritual bodies with radical acceptance. Growing up in Ireland, I have experienced how Power-Over control is deeply embedded in religious, medical, cultural, educational and judicial systems. Developing a felt-sense of safety in our bodies, sexuality and emotions is political activism and re-orientates us into heart-led, power-with connection with ourselves and each other.

I am passionate about fostering a felt sense of safety within and nurturing inclusive spaces where the unvoiced voices of the body, mind, and being are welcomed. When we integrate these exiled parts, we get to inhabit all of ourselves, and permit the discovery and expression of our innocent sexuality with joy, and curiosity. We also get to stand in our full integrity, truth and power and lead from there and co-create a better world.

Karen will offer an embodied consent and somatic sexology workshop at Hidden Heart to cultivate a deeper connection of our body’s intelligence, desires and boundaries.

*Karen draws from a deep well of hands-on experiences for the last 2 decades, working with a wide demographic of folks with shame, stigma, trauma and in various transitions of life.
